Unfortunately this situation will always be a “he said she said” scenario. The NBA is a business, albeit, a poorly run business where the outgoings are more than in the incmings. What this means is the Magic has to be run by someone who understands the business. SVG is far from a business man, he is a coach, and very good one (per his stats). While many might not like Martins, he too is held accountable by the DeVos family. In a couple to a few years I’m sure the DeVos family will sit around their dinner table (as it were) and discuss selling the franchise, at which point a decision will need to be made. This is bigger than SVG or Otis Smith, or even Martins for that matter… It’s about a broken-down archaic system that cannot be fixed without a complete overhaul. The “Fat Guy” was right… It’s about Billionaires versus Millionaires and the billionaires will always win–mark my words. Martins is not a coach, not a great leader in the community, nor are any Orlando Magic players. True leaders do not wait for the press to turn up before agreeing to do something in this community. Legendary seems to be the mantra of the Orlando Magic executives, but unfortunately, no one in the franchise knows what “legendary” looks like and this is a classic example. Perhaps the only thing legendary was how Martins fired the most successful coch in Franchise history – this would be a legendary blunder by Martins–also indicative of how this franchise operates.
